Providing text-based alternatives for access to visual content.

Within learning materials in digital formats, important content is conveyed using images. Alternative text is essential for informative images that contribute to the learner's understanding and enjoyment of digital format learning materials and is discoverable by most text-to-speech programs. Wherever possible, alternative text should be authored by the content creator but can be added when remediating content.
